Pocket Nurse is the world's leading supplier of medical supplies for education and simulation and a proud supporter of those operating medical simulation labs. For the fourth year in a row, Pocket Nurse is continuing its sponsorship of the SimGHOSTS symposium by providing two $1,500 scholarships to individuals/institutions in need. These scholarships are designed to support participation in the development and advancement of those operating medical simulation labs. Selection and Awards Scholarship applications were reviewed by SimGHOSTS staff based on the submitted documents. Awards were provided to applicants who clearly demonstrated an immediate need to support their program's simulation team.  We are happy to announce our two winners: Erica Hinojosa and Jennifer Thackston!

Congratulations to Erica and Jennifer, who are each receiving $1500 each to attend SimGHOSTS 2017 USA at the WakeMed Center for Innovative Learning!

Erica Hinojosa has worked as a Simulation Technician at the University of Texas-Arlington, College of Nursing & Health Innovation's Smart Hospital Facilities for the last two and a half years plus an additional one and a half years as a student assistant.  Erica has a true passion for all things simulation - she's currently involved in an on-going simulation research grant covering competency focused approach to clinical experiences, and she regularly mentors their junior sim techs!

Jennifer Thackston has been an instructor at Upstate EMS Council since 2010 after completing paramedic school at the same institution.  Jennifer began as an adjunct instructor, progressing into lead EMT instructor, and now teaches the paramedic course.  In addition to her teaching duties, she has become Upstate EMS Council's simulation leader, trainer, and technician.

Thank you so much to all those who applied for the scholarship and we hope to see you at SG17USA in August!
