SESAM's mission is to encourage and support the use of simulation in healthcare for the purpose of training and research. Members include physicians and nurses from a broad range of specialties, technicians, engineers, psychologists, physicists and biologists.
SESAM organises and supports meetings in a number of different ways:
- The Annual Meeting brings together simulation enthusiasts from all over the world for a three day meeting.
- SESAM-supported working meetings allow members to teach colleagues key issues of simulation in an educational format and discuss defined questions in an investigational format.
- SESAM-endorsed meetings are simulation-oriented meetings with relevance for the SESAM membership.
